Kiwi,

Maybe you should give the following link in RED a look and just go through them in order. Although I would suggest trying a memtest before everything else just to be sure one of your memory sticks has not gone bad.

Nvidia Display Driver Issues

If you need help with any of these let me know and I will do what I can to help, short of flying to NZ that is

Went to their site, d/l latest drivers .... result... Still driver stoped and recovered  error.
Checked ram.... OK.
Next swap out power source with new 850 or 1000 watt and if still same problem then go for new video card.
Failing that .. buy new i7 gaming CPU.
if that dont fix it.... then im truely Royaly screwed...lol

Problem seems to be fixed or went away when i put a gtx 750 ti card in.
I am still going to put in new power supply and retry my gtx 960 . if problem returns then I will know 100% card issue.

Kiwi, what brand and model is your current power supply?

What Asus model is your current GTX960? Is it the Strix?

The 960 GTX can have some requirements that you may be falling short on.

"System Power Supply Requirements for a single GeForce GTX 960

• NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 400 Watt or greater system power supply. (Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz 130 Watt TDP processor.)

• the system power supply must also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 28 Amps or greater

• the system power supply should also have at least one 75-Watt 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector. There are some non-reference design cards that require two 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors (e.g. Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming 2 GB [GV-N960G1 GAMING-2GD REV.1.0], Inno3D iChill Geforce GTX 960 2GB Ultra, etc.) or one 150-Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector (e.g. EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2 GB [02G-P4-2966-KR], MSI GTX 960 Gaming OC 2 GB [GTX 960 GAMING 2G], etc.)."

Good to hear that it has been running stable.

Your Power Supply should meet the requirement of 28 Amps on the 12 volt rail as yours has 30 amps.

Did you do anything to get it to run stable?

Yes , I chucked the 960 and replaced it with a  GTX 750 Ti.
So I think its the card that caused the problems.
